Couch Podtatoes 9: #Blaugust Bonanza

For this weeks Podcast we took a more communal approach as we have been seeing a lot of amazing posts and ideas coming from the Blaugust Initiative and wanted to discuss some of these further.

First we went into a bit of the news as well as what’s been happening so far with gamescon, the games we are interested in and what else is happening with the consoles.
From there it’s discussions on exclusivity and cross platform play.
The rest centered around gaming monogamy, in particular with mmo’s and a large discussion regarding wow and the Ten questions for ten years initiative. Afterwards we wondered if Blizzard were intentionally sunsetting the game in favour of sending players to it’s other franchises.

So sit back, strap in and enjoy the ride

This week was the wonderful business acumen of a Ubisoft Analyst proclaiming that the League of Legends f2p model is “bad for business” but great for consumers. Seems to be great for both.

WHAT A WEEk.. Blaugust continues with another exciting posts and there are so many more flooding into my feedly everyday. I’m finding so many more bloggers that I’d either skipped over, missed or that have returned form the grave to write once more and it is a great thing to see. For me, it’s starting to wear a little. I don’t write this often and kind of have my own schedule for a reason and that is so as to not burn out… mainly because I like playing games too instead of rambling away.

For the week it it’s been busy as usual. Exciting times at the kindy as we are planning a lot of sensory type activities which means being able to get messy and have fun during the day…messy is awesome. Goop (cornflour and water) to play with one day, painting with jelly for another ooh and pretend cooking with rainbow spaghetti and scented rice. So many more fun things as well.

Blaugust Begins

After a little bit of thinking and wondering about this BLAUGUST event everyone’s talking about and whether I actually could achieve it I thought, why not. You see for most things I plan to do it usually ends up that I get halfway through and then either lose interest or forget about them entirely, usually a combination of the two and I expect this to been kind of the same thing. Having a look at just this blog are a number of forgotten projects and at home, well.. lets not start there. If I couldn’t go the whole way well why bother but then I thought it would be an interesting experiment anyway.
